Pump Priming Scheme
The scheme is designed to stimulate UK strategic activity in III-V and group IV semiconductors with the expectation that the recipient will, within 6 months, write a full EPSRC proposal building on the results of the feasibility study. Proposals should typically aim for 1-3 deliverable structures. The scheme is open to all persons who normally qualify to hold an EPSRC grant.
The next Pump Priming call is from Monday 2nd March – Friday 10th April 2026. For submitting a Pump Priming application, please read the below information.
The scheme has recently been expanded to cover a broader range of materials, and applications are invited in the following materials systems:
- III-As,Sb,P,Bi and III-Nitride materials
- Gallium Oxide and related materials
- Silicon Carbide
- 2D Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDs)
- II-VIs
- 2D III-VIs (eg GaSe) and hBN
- Topological Insulators (Bi,Se,Te,Sb)
