Upcoming Careers Fair & PhD Open Day

We are exhibiting at the University of Sheffield’s Spring Careers Fair on Wednesday 5th May at the Octagon. Please come and speak to us if you are interested in our PhD studentships, or to find out more about what we do!

We are also holding a PhD Open Day on the afternoon of Wednesday 14th May for undergraduate and MSc students who are interested in undertaking a PhD studentship with us.

The open day, held from 12:30-4pm, will be a great insight for students to find out more about the Facility and the PhD studentships available.

There will be various presentations and a Q&A session, including with a current PhD student, followed by a tour of our cleanroom and device characterization labs. A free lunch is also included!

Our funded PhD studentships are based at our headquarters at the University of Sheffield. The studentships will be based on the research and development in the growth of compound semiconductor materials and devices, gaining expertise in MBE or MOVPE, and various device characterization techniques. The studentships will be best suited to candidates with a keen interest in semiconductor materials, devices and characterization techniques, and a solid background in semiconductor physics or engineering.
