The UK Semiconductors Conference 2025, the 18th year of the conference, took place on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd July at Sheffield Hallam University.
This years conference was the largest to date, with over 340 delegates and 50 exhibitors and sponsors.
The conference was in a different area this year to allow for more exhibitors, more refreshment and seating areas, a larger poster room and the new addition of exhibitor technical presentations.

Plenary Speakers Dr Bernardette Kunert, Prof Anthony Bennett and Prof Amalia Patane gave talks on III-V Laser integration in Silicon Photonics, Colour Centres in Wide-Bandgap Semiconductors and Atomically-Thin Semiconductors for Science and Technology. IOP Semiconductor Physics Group thesis prize winner Dr Julien Barrier gave an invited talk on Graphene Superlattices.
The IOP Phil Buckle Research Communication Competition took place, giving PhD students the opportunity to give a 3 minute presentation on their research to a non-specialist audience. Congratulations to the winner Ann-Kathrin Holzmann from the University of Strathclyde, for her presentation on Micron-scale semiconductor device integration for future systems-on-a-chip.
