The Engineer Visit

We enjoyed welcoming Jon Excell, News Editor at The Engineer UK, to the Facility last Friday, 16 October.

Following meeting the The University of Sheffield‘s Media Team earlier this year, Jon was very interested in learning more about the NEF, the wider Sheffield ecosystem and our key role in supporting UK semiconductor R&D. 

During his visit, Jon toured our state-of-the-art semiconductor cleanrooms, including growth and fabrication laboratories, at the University of Sheffield, and found out more about our leading research and innovation projects with academia and industry.

Thanks to Drs Zofia K. Bishop, Elisa Maddalena Sala, Ed Clarke, and Paul Fry for facilitating the tour, Prof Chee Hing Tan for his inputs on the wider Sheffield semiconductor activity, Sean Barton for organising the visit, and Jon Excell for his interest in Sheffield semiconductor R&D and taking the time to learn more about what we do.
