DSIT’s £6.6m investment into semiconductor infrastructure
We’re delighted to share that the National Epitaxy Facility has received new funding as part of a £6.6m investment from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
This funding will directly support upgrades to our capabilities, helping us continue to provide cutting-edge epitaxial growth services to researchers and industry across the UK. By strengthening our facilities, we can accelerate advances in key areas such as compound semiconductors, photonics, and next-generation devices.
We are also delighted to see funding has been awarded to The University of Sheffield’s Centre for Heterogeneous Integration of MicroElectronic and Semiconductor Systems Innovation and Knowledge Centre (CHIMES-IKC).
This collaborative approach is essential if the UK is to remain globally competitive in semiconductor technologies, and we look forward to working together to enable world-class semiconductor research and innovation.
