UK Semiconductor Advisory Panel visit to the National Epitaxy Facility
We were delighted to welcome the Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy, Saqib Bhatti, to the Facility last week, along with Richard Duffy and the DSIT semiconductor team.
Our Director Jon Heffernan showed off the extensive facilities for compound semiconductor epitaxy in our cleanrooms, including new equipment for heterogeneous integration, and our dual-chamber MBE system for Quantum Technologies (pictured below).
The visit coincided with the meeting of the National Semiconductor Advisory Board in Sheffield and we were grateful to hear more of the government’s commitment to both semiconductors and quantum technologies; both longstanding key strengths of The University of Sheffield.
