This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the management and strategic development of the National Epitaxy Facility. You will be responsible for the operation of a major national facility providing epitaxy and materials services to a broad range of customers. The role will involve management of the facility across personnel, finance, scheduling, quality, reporting, health and safety, efficiency, knowledge transfer and strategic.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Facility ensuring it meets its key performance objectives in a sustainable business model. In conjunction with the Facility Director and senior academic partners, you will also be responsible for sustaining and developing the Facility’s important role as a national centre of excellence and helping to strategically extend its reach both nationally and internationally through excellence in scientific capabilities and service delivery. The post holder will report to the Director of the Facility.

We are seeking candidates with a PhD or significant equivalent experience in semiconductor materials, epitaxy or a similar technical/scientific field. Scientific, engineering or manufacturing background in semiconductors, epitaxy or materials is essential. The position is available for 1 year and is potentially extendable to a further 3-5 years depending on renewal of the current facility contract in 2022.
