M4QN Launch Event
The Materials for Quantum Network (M4QN) launch event took place in Manchester on the 16th – 17th January and was a great success!
M4QN was recently funded by the EPSRC to bring together the UK’s Materials and Quantum Technologies Communities. It connects the world-leading UK materials research base, the existing National Quantum Technologies Programme (NQTP), and the developing quantum technologies industry base.
The event provided the opportunity for members to connect and form new interdisciplinary communities and research projects.
There was a great turnout, with the National Epitaxy Facility management: Facility Director Prof Jon Heffernan, Epitaxy Director Dr Ian Farrer, UCL PI Prof Huiyun Liu, and University of Cambridge PI Prof Rachel Oliver in attendance. Prof Jon Heffernan leads the ‘System Level Materials’ interest group, Prof Huiyun Liu leads the ‘Semiconductors and Photonics’ interest group and Prof Rachel Oliver is on the executive advisory committee of the M4QN.
